List of Exchange Server and Update Rollups Builds Numbers

This page lists the Exchange Server versions and Update Rollups with release dates and KB respectively
Only Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010.

To view the build number for the version of Exchange 2010 that you’re running, run the following command in the Exchange Management Shell:
Get-ExchangeServer | fl name,edition,admindisplayversion

To view the build number for the version of Exchange 2007 that you’re running, run the following command in the Shell:
Get-ExchangeServer | fl name,edition,admindisplayversion

To view the build number of Exchange Server 2003, open the Properties dialog box of the server object

Send een SMTP bericht met Telnet

Je kunt met behulp van Telnet Sessie een SMTP (email) bericht versturen. Dit kan wel eens handig zijn in het kader van troubleshooting.

Start een Telnet Sessie na je mail/smtp server op poort 25 (default)

Open een command box

Type telnet smtp.server.nl 25 (enter)
De connectie na de mail/smtp server wordt gemaakt en er zal een antwoord van de smtp.server.nl komen.
De telnet sessie zal als eerst het volgende ongeveer laten zien: 220 Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service.....

Type helo (enter)
Het antwoord zal als volgt moeten zijn
250 smtp.server.nl Hello [ip adres]

Type mail from:test [at] server [dot] nl (enter) - Dit is het van adres
Antwoord zal als volgt moeten zijn
250 test [at] server [dot] nl Sender Ok

Error: Cannot purge mailbox

Today i noticed something strange when moving a users mailbox to another exchange mailbox server.

The Mailbox migrating went correct, the mailbox has succesfull moved to another mailbox server but at the 'old' location still resides a mailbox for that user. The users mailbox has the status orphaned (Red cross)
When trying to purge the mailbox The following error occurred:

The operation cannot be performed because this mailbox is already reconnected to an existing user.
ID no: c1034ad6
Exchange System Manager.

I try manually run the "Start Mailbox Management Process" and the "Run Cleanup Agent" but it not solve the error.
Then i changed the "Keep deleted mailboxes for (days)" to 0.
