Disable Vista User Account Control (UAC)

How disable Vista User Account Control (UAC). This can be done at serveral ways.

First, what is User Account Control (UAC). UAC is a Windows Vista built-in feautyre to automatically reduce the potential of security issues for your system. UAC forces users that are member of the local administrators group to run like they are regular users without administrative rights.
When a user is a member of the local administrators group or of the Domain Admins group tries to perform a taks or start a programs that requires administrative privileges, Windows Vista stops this operation automatically and prompts the user to acknowledge it to running the task

The following warning will appear at your desktop.

Vista examen gehaald

Gisteren succesvol het Vista (MCTS: Windows Vista – Configuration 70-620) examen gehaald.

Het examen bestaat uit z'n 15 simulations en de rest zijn meerkeuze vragen (50 stuks).
De simulations zijn er goed te doen en worden dan ook duidelijk omschreven.
De meerkeuze vragen zijn over het algemeen genomen ook goed te doen, er waren een paar bij die ik persoonlijk wel wat lastigere vondt.

Maar het resultaat is het belangrijkst en dat is dat ik dit examen gehaald heb.

Op naar het 70-647 exeman (Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator)
 

Morgen weer examen tijd

Morgen het Microsoft Vista examen (MCTS: Windows Vista – Configuration 70-620) doen, deze is echter noodzaakelijk om het  Windows 2008 certificering te halen.
 

De Microsoft Clients examen zijn niet echt mijn ding, (niet mijn expertise gebied zeg maar), maar zoals ik al aangaf is het een 'verplicht' examen.

Vanavond dus nog maar even in het grote dikke studieboek gezeten.......

Als ik dit exemen succesvol haal dan moet ik volgende examen nog doen, Windows Server 2008, Enterprise Administrator (70-647) om de MCITP -Enterprise Administrator  certificering status te behalen.

Voor nu ga ik nog maar even ontspannen op de Xbox.....

ShellRunas, a free utility from Microsoft that integrates into the Windows context menu to launch programs as a different user. It provides similar functionality to that of the command line based RunAs utility.

The command-line Runas utility is handy for launching programs under different accounts.

ShellRunas works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.

To use this tool, download it here.
Extract the Zip-File.

Run shellrunas.exe /reg from the directory where you extracted the files.

Shellrunas.exe will be registered and you can now select Run as Different User from the context menu.

Missing icons vista System Tray

Last week i notice that my Network icon has been disappeard.
Now you can normally enable or disable this icon by clicking richt on the Taskbar, select properties and go to the 'Notification Area' tab
